Start by clearing, not by scrubbing
Always start with the dishes and clearing the counters. Scrubbing around clutter wastes time and leaves dirty patches behind.
Once the surfaces are cleared, you can see what actually needs work: baked-on stains, grease around the burners, splashes on the splashback.
Food waste goes out to the bin next, and the lid goes back on to keep smells down.
Work from the top down
The rule is simple: everything that falls ends up on the floor. Hood, splashback and cabinet edges get cleaned before the counters.
On the cooktop, degrease first with a suitable product, then rinse. Very greasy grates can be removed and soaked separately.
The sink is the last surface: descale the tap, rinse the basin, and give the mixer a final wipe.
Floor last, bin emptied
The floor gets cleaned at the very end: vacuum into the corners and under reachable furniture, then mop with warm water suited to the flooring.
Empty the kitchen bin once the counter is finished, not during, so you never re-touch cleaned surfaces.
If a point you flagged was not done properly, we come back and redo it free within 24 h. Our cleaner brings her own equipment and products.
